Staff Turnover have you Spinning?

Is employee turnover killing your revenue goals? Read on for tips to gauge what can be done to increase staff retention and your bottom line.

Yesterday I worked with a client to create an employee survey which provides deeper insights on the current climate of their staff engagement and company culture.

If you’re a business owner, or in charge of P&L, you know the exorbitant costs associated with hiring and training new staff. As a business strategist, my first question is always about your company culture and how it shows up in the workplace.

A quick, easy, and free way to understand which of your employees is looking to take part in the great resignation is by taking an anonymous survey.  If your business does not have regular 360 reviews in place, this is a great way to gain feedback. Having the information does not solve your challenges though, it’s important to read beyond the details (weeds) of the comments and understand what larger concepts or areas your employees care about.

DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) is a hot topic right now, and rightly so as it directly impacts employee satisfaction and retention. What’s challenging is the statistics being captured are based on individual perception, such as one on an HBR podcast:  82% of women feel excluded in the workplace, and 92% of males believe they are inclusive of everyone in the workplace!

Taking your own surveys on these topics is a great place to begin solving retention issues.

Another innovative approach would be to join my Book Club studying “The Book of Joy” focusing on important lessons from two of the most prominent and inclusive religious leaders of our time. This will be an interactive group of executives discussing ways to increase staff engagement and reduce turnover.

Last and certainly not least, we can work together one-on-one to develop clear understanding of your challenges and create customized approaches to address those challenges. Whether it be leadership development, culture, engagement, or communication – Bonfire Coaching has the tools and resources to help shift your current experience into a more empowered and effective one.
